Peddes in Russia

I was contacted in 2006 by Sergey Pedde, who lives in Volgograd in Russia. Other than the obvious fact that we share the same surname, as we compared family histories by email we discovered that our respective families originated in German-speaking enclaves in the same part of Poland and were exiled to Siberia before World War I.  Those are some pretty strong indicators that there should be some sort of direct family tree connection, but we have yet to find it.  With historical information so scarce in our families because of the constant turmoil caused by the World Wars I and II, it is a challenge to make any definitive pronouncements as to how we connect specifically.

As far as I am concerned, a Pedde is a Pedde and with our common history in Poland and Siberia, I feel that the connection is real and although we may never discover the specific details, I am nevertheless happy to welcome the Russian Peddes onto this website and am very happy to have the opportunity to get to know them.

Sergey is very kindly supplying me with information about his family tree, with photographs of the area where he now lives and even some information and photographs from Siberia.  Over the coming months he and I will co-operate to add information to this part of the Everything Pedde Everywhere website.

A heartfelt Welcome to Sergey and all of his relatives.

If you are a Pedde and if your information is not listed here, please click here to send us your information.

If you think that someone in your own family history might in some way be connected to a Pedde, please click here for a list of surnames of individuals who are connected (usually by marriage) to some part of my family tree.
